Edith Cavell Memorial Weekend – 20% off Edith Ale
This weekend marks the 110 year anniversary of Edith Cavell’s death on 12th October, 1915.
Edith Cavell was a pioneering British nurse known for her compassionate work with soldiers of all sides during World War I and for helping over 200 Allied soldiers escape from German-occupied Belgium.
Arrested and charged with treason by the German military, she was executed by firing squad in Brussels on October 12, 1915, becoming a wartime martyr whose story fueled Allied recruitment efforts.
Her famous final words, “Patriotism is not enough; I must have no hatred or bitterness towards anyone,” exemplify the compassion that defined her life and legacy.
In her memory will be serving the locally brewed Edith Cavell real ale with a 20% discount all weekend. Come and join us in raising a glass to this very special lady.
